Playing Baccarat is so easy! All you have to keep in mind is that your aim is to form a hand with a point value as nearer to 9 as possible, and also higher than the hand of the banker.
There are only two principal bets you can make: banker or player. Some casinos let you deal the cards in turn and others have a casino dealer who deals the cards. When playing Baccarat online, the computer does all the work: a virtual dealer deals the cards automatically. So, the already easy game can be even easier!
Players may opt not to deal, if they wish to. Two hands are dealt and you bet on the one you think will win; and there is also the possibility that they will tie. It is pretty similar to betting on Red or Black at roulette. The payoff is even money: 1:1.
If either hand has a total of 8 or 9, then it is called a natural and no more cards are dealt. If it is not a natural, then the card dealer deals a third card, depending on the value of each hand. Once dealing is completed, the hand with the highest count wins.
A natural can never lose. An eight is the second best hand and it is also called a natural. If the player and bank have the same hands, it is called a “tie” and neither of them wins.
In such cases like when neither hand has a natural, then the player's hand is played first, followed by the dealer’s. If the first two cards total five or less, another card is drawn. If they total six or seven, then no further cards can be drawn.
No more than a total of three cards can be drawn for one hand. When both hands have been played out, the winner is the hand closest to nine.
The player who deals the cards is not responsible for the payouts. He is just like you, or like any other player, playing against the casino.
So, it’s totally up to you: you may bet either on Banker or on Player. If you win on Banker, the dealer pays even money and asks you to settle the commission right away. So, you can basically stay with one side or the other, or switch back and forth, or, in one word, do whatever you wish!
The one detail that does help you as a bettor to follow the game is the way the hands are tallied. It's from zero until nine. Tens and picture cards have no value, all the other cards, starting from aces until nines their numerical values.
All in all, Baccarat is a simple game of chance and it doesn’t involve any degree of skill from the player or dealer.
